NASHVILLE, Tenn. (January 25, 2016) – Tim Rushlow & His Big Band are ready to help St. Louis “Get Your Retro On” as the award-winning country artist turned jazz crooner heads to the historic Sheldon Concert Hall for a night of timeless songs from the Great American Songbook. Previously known for his smash hits with platinum-selling country group Little Texas, Rushlow has reinvented himself and garnered national attention as a big band singer reminiscent of an earlier era. Tim Rushlow & His Big Band recently dazzled viewers on an international stage as he performed the first dance for the President and First Lady at Friday’s Freedom Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. With a history of honoring America by performing for sailors and soldiers around the world, when asked to take the stage at the inaugural events Rushlow accepted, as he felt the opportunity was more about being an American and less about political affiliation. “Anytime I’m asked to do anything that involves our military or my country, I always say ‘Absolutely, I’d be honored,’” Rushlow said to The Hollywood Reporter and others of his recent appearance. When asked if he would have performed had Hillary Clinton been elected, Rushlow’s reply was “Absolutely.”

A video recording of the singer and his 18-piece ensemble “Tim Rushlow & His Big Band – LIVE” became a national pledge drive for American Public Television in late 2016, and is being aired on affiliates across the country, including the St. Louis market. Watch the preview of “Tim Rushlow & His Big Band – LIVE” on YouTube. The audio version of “Tim Rushlow & His Big Band – LIVE” hits digital retailers on February 10, 2017.

A versatile entertainer who sold millions of records during his time as lead singer of country music super group Little Texas, Tim Rushlow is a master song interpreter with a deep, abiding love for the classics. During the band’s impressive run in the ’90’s, he and the rest of the Little Texas members charted over a dozen hits including “God Blessed Texas,” “What Might Have Been,” and the number one smash “My Love.” Following the band’s breakup, Tim embarked upon a solo career with Atlantic Records and released a self-titled CD that yielded the heartwarming Top Ten hit “She Misses Him,” about a couple’s touching battle with Alzheimer’s. Following a few more endeavors in musical groups and pairings, in 2009 Tim decided to refocus his energies on honing his performing skills as a solo act, launching a well-received acoustic tour at smaller listening rooms around the country. The challenge of engaging audiences and laying his emotions bare on the stage in front of intimate crowds night after night fired up Tim’s creativity to a new level and renewed his love for the classic sounds he grew up listening to and first cut his musical teeth on like Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, and Andy Williams. And the experience soon inspired him to take his career in a whole new direction as the modern-day crooner he had always envisioned himself to be.
